Located at the corner of West Park Avenue and South Slocum Street, the original section of the Morey House was built in 1901 on land purchased from the railroad. An addition was built in 1904, and the home was completed in 1908.

James Morey purchased the house in 1917 for $304.07. Over the years, it served as the Morey family home, the office for Birchwood Lumber and Manufacturing, an insurance office, and a vacation home. In 1995, the Morey family donated the house to BAHS.

Located on Elm Avenue next to Birchwood Village Hall, the Log Museum was established in 1992. It preserves artifacts and stories from the logging industry that helped build Birchwood and the surrounding area.
